I think that dogs should not be able to ride in a car while someone is driving, because it is dangerous for the people around us and the people that are in the car. Dogs are not like humans and you can't always control what a dog is going to do. I as a dog owner am always scared when my dog is running around the car. His leash could get stuck on my steering wheels or, the dog could jump out the window like in the movie Marley and Me.

It is always helpful to have someone to talk to in the car, but dogs are great distractions to driving. Most of the dogs that I have seen in the world have no patience and tend to move around quite a bit. That can cause great trouble when you are driving. Like stepping on buttons that you are not supposed to mess with, getting in the view of the driver, or the dog could jump on to the drivers lap and that could cause the driver to loose control of the steering wheel.

Driving alone is already dangerous there is over a million deaths in the world from car accidents and I don't think we need to have another reason how people get into car accidents. If you are taking your dog to a nearby lake it is way better to walk your dog.

There are probably more dogs that are bad in a car than dogs that can behave in a car. Even if they can behave they will be a great distraction to the driver.

People might say that you can put the dog in a crate or put the dog in a seat belt, but even if you put the dog in a crate or a seat belt it can still be a distraction. You will have to take the dog to do its business, and think about the poor dog stuck in a car for several hours in a tight space. I don't know about you but I would be bored and scared.

Either way putting a dog in your car is your decision and this is a free world so anyone can choose what they want to do and no one has a say in what you should do, but in my own opinion and what I believe is the best decision to keep the world a better place is to not put a dog in a car.
