Fairies are generally small creatures in magic the gathering and they do most of their damage by being smarter and faster than the opponent. The ability to fly is naturally very valuable but so is being able to appear almost out of no where. It is for this reason that creatures with flash are so important.
Vendilion Clique is a rare legendary faerie wizard from the morningtide expansion set of magic the gathering. It costs two blue and one colorless to put into play and is a 3/1 creature with flying. This makes for a creature that is excellent for appearing out of no where and killing something that your opponent would prefer not die, but it also has a come into play ability that has quite a bit of value, and that it has a come into play effect makes this even more useful.
This ability reads "When Vendilion Clique enters the battlefield, look at target player's hand. You may choose a nonland card from it. If you do, that player reveals the chosen card, puts it on the bottom of his or her library, then draws a card."
This has two possibilities. The first and obvious of these is to take a card out of your opponent's hand that he will want to use. That he then gets to draw a card makes it a bit weaker but since you don't have to use the ability even after you have looked at their hand if there isn't anything you're afraid of you won't use it.
The second way to use this on yourself. This is of high value if you have any card in your hand that you do not need or have a strong need for another card. This makes this card almost a cantrip when you have cards that you do not need. This can help you get to the card that you need.
One of the major weaknesses of this card is that it has a toughness of only one, but with flying that is far less important than others and as a reasonably low cost creature even if it is lost it is not all that expensive.
As a largely disposable creature the legendary status of this creature is of very little relevance. Far more important is the ability to surprise an opponent either by appearing to block, or being cast at the end of their turn so that it can attack immediately.
