Hate to burst your proverbial bubble but here is the raw truth. When looking for last minute deals on airline tickets when going on vacation, go onto the airlines website or call the particular airline you are more familiar with. There are several search engines that give you a false sense of security when it comes to getting great deals on airline tickets, but when you dive right in, you find that the fees, and cost being added onto the already somewhat high last minute ticket isn't worth it. You may as well go to the horse's mouth (so to speak) and capitalize on the best prices out there.

Remember when you are looking for the best deals and you have very little time to waste, go for the sure things instead of the hoopla being set forth by the "compare and save" search engines. If you take a look at them, they all offer the same thing, lots of exciting pictures of vacation spots with very little substance when it comes right down to it. You can even make reservations for hotels and rental cars on other search websites, you find out that they were either not done correctly or had expired and were not being kept up date. That puts you even more behind and in more of a hurry to get something that fits your requirements and your pocket books.

American Airlines and Southwest Airlines (depending on your destination), in my opinion, offers the most secure website, last minute pricing and has the name you can trust when it comes right down to it. You can call and confirm your reservations at any time or sign on their websites. Don't panic, just understand, when you contact the airline itself and make the reservations, not only would the price be the best you can get, but that also you will not be treated as if you were speaking some foreign language when you may need to change or postpone your flight. There are several ways to get things accomplished but only with name brands you know and trust. Flying is a pleasurable way to travel and vacations are very important, why trust your safety to just any airline. There are times when cutting corners are okay but not when time is of the essence and you only have one chance to get it right. When you make your plans, choose the airline that is considered number one for customer satisfaction. Make this year's vacation travel count, go to the horse's mouth.
