"Wolf-Skull Shaman" is a 2/2 green elf shaman printed as an uncommon for the Magic the Gathering expansion set known as "Morningtide." This is one of those cards in Morningtide that encourage players to build around a theme of one or two creature types. In the case of the Wolf-Skull Shaman, you want to build around elves and/or shamans for the most part. That way, you can definitely get a lot out of the Wolf-Skull Shaman.
The converted mana cost for Wolf-Skull Shaman is two. You will need one green mana and one colorless mana to bring Wolf-Skull Shaman onto the battlefield. For what the Wolf-Skull Shaman can do, the converted mana cost is well worth it. In the long run, Wolf-Skull Shaman could be a vital card. With another certain card, it becomes quite useful. In a sense, you can use this to make an aggressive-control deck with elves and shamans.
What does the Wolf-Skull Shaman do in the first place?
It has this ability called Kinship. The Kinship ability differs from one card from another. However, one thing remains the same. The ability triggers if you look at the top of your library and the card shares the same type as the card with Kinship. In regards to Wolf-Skull Shaman, you get to put a 2/2 green wolf creature token onto the battlefield if you look at the top card of your library and it is a creature card that is an elf and/or shaman. In this respect, you want to put this with both elves and shamans.
One can ask: How do you get the most out of Wolf-Skull Shaman?
The question has already been answered: Focus on elves and shamans. You may want to combine this with the mythic rare from "Magic 2010" called "Master of the Wild Hunt." Wolf-Skull Shaman will boost the main ability of Master of the Wild Hunt. When Master of the Wild Hunt is on the battlefield, you get to put a 2/2 green wolf token onto the battlefield at the start of your upkeep. With Wolf-Skull Shaman and Master of the Wild Hunt together, you may be able to put two 2/2 green wolf tokens onto the battlefield at the start of your upkeep.
Then, you can tap Master of the Wild Hunt. Then, you can tap all those wolf tokens. You can use this combination to get rid of an opponent's creatures.
Overall, Wolf-Skull Shaman is a great card to have alone. With the right combination of cards, the Wolf-Skull Shaman becomes quite the impressive card to have.
