"Vengeful Firebrand" is a 5/2 red elemental warrior printed as a rare for the Magic the Gathering expansion set known as "Morningtide." This is one of the types of cards that encourage players to build around a theme or "tribe" of creatures. In regards to Vengeful Firebrand, players are encouraged to build around the tribe of warriors. This is also the type of card that is best used in an aggressive deck. If you play aggressively with Vengeful Firebrand, you can get a lot out of this card.
The converted mana cost for Vengeful Firebrand is four. You will need one red mana and three colorless mana to bring Vengeful Firebrand from your hand and onto the battlefield. For what the Vengeful Firebrand can do, the converted mana cost is well worth it for the most part.
What does the Vengeful Firebrand do in the first place?
If you have a warrior creature card in your graveyard, Vengeful Firebrand has Haste. It means that the Vengeful Firebrand can attack as soon as it enters the battlefield. It would mean that you do not have to wait the next turn to attack with Vengeful Firebrand if you have a warrior card in your graveyard.
For each red mana you pay, you can give Vengeful Firebrand +1/+0 until the end of the turn. If you have spent four red mana, Vengeful Firebrand would get +4/+0 until the end of the turn. It would effectively become a 9/2 creature until the end of the turn. While this is great, Vengeful Firebrand does not have any other useful ability such as Fear, Intimidate, Flying, or Trample. As long as an opponent has some sort of weak blocker, you cannot do damage with Vengeful Firebrand.
You could always enchant or equip and artifact to Vengeful Firebrand to give it Trample.
However, you can combine this with "Boldwyr Intimidator." That is if you can get Boldwyr Intimidator onto the battlefield early enough. Its activated ability says that cowards cannot block warriors. You can pay one red mana to make a target creature into a coward until the end of the turn. If your opponent has one blocker, you can pay the red mana to turn it into a coward. Then, you can strike with the Vengeful Firebrand.
Overall, Vengeful Firebrand is a great card to have provided that you are playing aggressively. This looks good for an aggressive shock and burn deck. However, this is also great if you are using a warrior themed deck with Morningtide and "Lorwyn" cards.

Haste is a very easy to overlook because unlike any other ability a creature is likely to have it only matters on the turn
