Poetry: Moving forward

Tell me a sad tale.

The one about your broken heart.

How he stole the biggest part.

How he hurled it onto the ground.

Stomped it to bits.

Then danced merrily around.

Tell me another sad tale.

The one about your other love

that failed so miserably.

I'll sit here quietly.

I'll listen so patiently.

I can't promise a quick cure.

There isn't any.

But I'll be here for you.

Every day.

I won't go away.

Tell me all your sad tales.

We'll bury them all.

In an imaginary graveyard.

We'll give them grand funerals.

It's time for some new tales.

Ones that aren't so blue.

Time for some happy ones.

Incredibly carefree and bright.

Like the sun on a summer's day

or as cool as a moonlit night.
