Although the name is quite attractive, there is nothing nice about love handles. They prevent you from wearing tight clothes and it is quite impossible to hide them. In spite of the wide opinion, love handles are not genetic or hereditary, and you are definitely not born with them. Excuses are irrelevant, what is important is that with some targeted exercise you can most definitely lose your not so loved love handles.
The reason why love handles appear is gravity, it is simple physics, nothing can fight the force of gravity, and this is exactly why so many have troubles with love handles and lower abs. Targeted exercise is the key, though regular exercise like crunches will not do any harm, they will not help either. One such beneficial training for your love handles and for your legs and arms that you can do at home on your own, without any professional help is explained in detail below.
For this exercise you need something as a support, a chair would be perfect. The starting position is to stand still while the support is placed on your right side. Raise your left arm up in the air, and with your right arm hold on to the support. Along with your left arm, you need to raise your left leg in a specific position. While in the process of raising your leg, you slowly bend your knee. The upper leg must be aligned with your waist, your knee and waist must form a right angle. Once you reached this position slowly bring your arm towards your left leg, your knee and elbow should be touching while the point of contact must be in your waistline. Repeat the same action this time on your right side. This is just one of the exercises targeting exactly your love handles; the exercise is effective even though it is not an instant solution.
While exercising is the best overall solution to lose weight, some specific workouts might do more harm than good. Twists, or sit-ups and crunches while your knees are up and legs hanging are not an ideal workout to lose love handles. These exercises might be good for your abs, and lower abs, but they do very little for your love handles. Many disregard the fact that you need to strengthen your lower back if you wish to exercise your abs appropriately. This way, the workout will be effective and targeting the right area.
