Silence, rest, a pause
between notes-
you sleep. Your body curls
against mine as you love me.
Awake- your voice rumbles
in the distance. I hear your heart beat,
your sinews settle,
and your stomach snarl
over the meal I offered you.
I nod, watching your lips
round and move,
watching your words
settle in the silence.
For within my soul's song,
you love me.
