The civil rights war can never be won

by E. B. Smith

Created on: October 29, 2009

As long as there are people who believe that they are more American than others. The need for civil rights will always exist. the devastating part of the civil Rights movement is that we relied on the same people who perpetuated the injustice to fix the problems, and they haven't. A rethinking of the goals and objectives of the movement should be underway. Voting for candidates who understand the complex problem is the key. Removing lawmakers who doesn't have Americas best interests in mind is the way to reach the objectives of Civil Rights. It's a sticky subject. One that many dare not touch. Even minority politicians. Looking at America in the Pre Civil Rights will help us gain a renewed urgency of it.

Humans sprayed with water hoses, men and women hanged from a tree and children forced to attend incompetent school systems. All a sign that the United States need to do better when it comes to encouraging equal rights for everyone. Unfortunately the culture of the country is sparked by elected officials. All of which don't want to handle complicated but poignant subjects like racial equality. They would rather manipulate culture differences and help the disenfranchised rely on them for the change. using the disparages as a way to create emotionally driven voters.

Whenever a random scan can take a snapshot from colleges, prisons, corporations and churches and prove that our country is still segregated and misrepresented, then we still have a problem.

The way to solve the problem in the colleges is to make a better structure at the grade school level, so that when young adults reach college they will b better prepared. In order to fix the disproportionate prison population between minorities and whites; the judicial system should undergo a review, a concentrated effort to provide legitimate counsel to poor suspects, a review of judical appointments, and better trained peace officers will began a healing process. Corporate American companies who have large companies and don't have a good representation of Americas citizenship should not be given bailouts or government help. It may sound like quotas but it may be the only way to solve the problem in an private institution.

In every area of America more work needs to be done in the way of fair and equality. In some respect Civil Rights is an oximoron. The thought of giving someone rights that they should automatically have is preposterous. But then again so is racism.
