Poetry: Green

by Volecia Plafcan

If trees weren't green, would they be blue

Blue couldn't be a tree so true

Stems of flowers

grass in the yard

what if they were red

on our eyes would be hard

Can you imagine the ocean without green

would be unimaginable

'cause I've always seen

some parts of the water

a beautiful green

and money

would it be a nice shade of pink

that someone suggested that color ink

There has to be green on our little planet

no other color would work now, dammit!
