It is better to be controlled than to be completely free because everyone wants to be free. It is in human nature to be free. Freedom is something we all value; we treasure it more than anything else. Freedom is a gift to human kind. Freedom to think, write and to speak out; freedom to believe in what we want and to act accordingly. Freedom to worship and freedom not to worship. We all have a free will and we can determine the outcome of our lives.
Freedom is freedom!
After all that is said we have to ask ourselves one soul searching question: If everyone did what they thought was right or best. What would the world look like?
Freedom to act out a desire can be good for you but it can destroy someone else's life! For example having sex with a married person satisfies your own desire, but that person's spouse is faced with a life in ruins. Another example is a man who goes out driving in his sports car, 100 miles an hour, hits another person who is killed instantly. That man had freedom to drive like that but still his freedom had a cost. A life was taken and left behind are those who grieve.
Freedom is not as simple as it seem and therefore it must be controlled. We have the saying: "freedom with responsibility". You must be responsible and you must account for your actions. In the U.S. every one is allowed to have a gun, but we see more and more how many life's are taken by this so called "freedom". We understand the importance of protecting one self and one's family, but still the cost of innocent life's is irreversible.
Understanding your neighbour can solve almost any problem.
So when all is said and done we must conclude that complete freedom can only be achieved by control. I did not say oppression or dictatorship or any such thing, but to be governed by good laws every country can come up with a solution that fits their nation best. All we have to do is to sit down and talk and find a way to make things better. We all have our own best interest at heart, but many times we fail to see that when we think about others first, or at least alongside of our selves, we are not only helping them but also our selves. Many times helping another is helping oneself.
