How to know if you're a christian

First of all we must extablish what source is valid to rightfully determine if you are a christian or not.

In the beginning God; this is how the holy bible begins to tell us about God the almighty creator of heaven and earth. In today's world however we see that many people do not believe in this holy bible. But as the title shows us we are talking about christianity, and that leads us to the bible and nowhere else. The God of the bible is the God of the christian, not of other religions. So to be a christian one must know this God and acknowledge Him as God. One must believe that He is the creator of all things and that He was there before time began and He will be there when time comes to an end. He is from everlasting to everlasting as the bible says.

The God of the bible however does not say that believing in Him is what makes you a christian. And it is not living in a so called christian country that makes you a christian, just like going to church will not make you a christian. These things are labelled as christian by the world, but not of God. If you read or know the bible you will find out that there is only one way to become a christian and that is to give your life to Christ!

I will allow you to read John 3:16 for yourself to see how God loved the world sending His Own Son so that you can live forever if you believe in Him. This Christ Jesus also said: "I am the way, the truth and the life!" He did not say that He was one way, one truth and one life, neither did He say that He was a part of the way, part truth and part life. No, He said I am the way, the truth and the life! Meaning according to Him, who is God, that there is no other way to come to God except Him (Jesus).

If you want to know what makes you a christian you must conclude that the word of God, the bible holds the key, since it is christianity we are talking about. One must acknowledge that it is God who has made the "rules" so to speak, and we can not make different rules than the ones He already has made. If it is God we want to know, and in the above case Christ Jesus then we must submit ourselves to what He has to say about the matter. These are my thoughts along this line and I hope the reader has gained understanding.

To end with I will just let you read this: Romans 10:9-10 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.
