There is a very special fascination about receiving a gourmet gift for Christmas especially when it is presented to you in a gorgeous basket or delicately offered on a shiny wooden platter. The attractive bottles you can see through the wrapping along with what looks like your favorite chocolates excite you to want to tear of that wrapping and devour all the contents.
So deciding to give your special someone a gift to remember this Christmas you have to decide what exactly goes into a gourmet gift!
There are so many variations and a number of wonderful products, all it takes are a bit of imagination and an idea of what that special someone likes.
Do you have a chocoholic on your hands? Well where do you start? Find that perfect rectangular basket and fill it to the brim with the most luscious chocolate assortments. There are just so many to choose from but do make sure you include any range of nuts, mint, fudge, liqueurs all coated in both milk, white and dark chocolate. Add a bottle of a favorite chocolate sauce along with some sticky date and ginger cookies. And who can't go passed a refined jar of coffee to wash it all down with.
An antipasto basket is a real winner for those who adore the Mediterranean influences. Fill a basket with Italian, Greek and Spanish cheeses. Add some jars of marinated olives and sundried tomatoes and fill the spaces with biscuits and salted nuts. For extra effect include a bottle of a tasty Shiraz or the subtle flavors of a Sauvignon Blanc with two attractive wine glasses.
If your decision to put together a gourmet gift is for a select individual then maybe you should consider something that looks more in the executive range. Perhaps a bottle of Chivas Regal Scotch whisky with a couple of whisky glasses could be a good start. Or maybe a Classic Dry red wine with cut glasses would be better. Add some biscuits and shortbread that compliment a cheese. Salted peanuts or roasted nuts along with chocolate fudge are wonderful associates as are petite fruit mince pies and brandy custard sauce. Just add a few bon bons, napkins and maybe a tin of earl grey tea and you have a beautiful gift.
There is no end to the wonderful gourmet gifts you can put together. You can make picnic hampers that include the rug and accessories along with any choice of picnic food. Or maybe organic is preferable adding herbal peppermint teas and organic Shiraz along with organic ground blend coffee, sweet and spicy BBQ sauce and arrabbiata sauce. Include some bone china cups or lovely wine glasses and bowl.
Everyone will love and enjoy a beautiful gourmet gift.
