Giving gifts to teen girls aged 16-18 can seem like a difficult task, especially if you do not know your recipient very well. However, the first step to giving any useful gift is to know your recipient well enough. This way, you will be able to give a decent gift that will get used plenty of times. - Clothing: Clothes make great gifts because they will most likely be appreciated. However, clothes will only make great gifts if you know your recipient's size and sense of style. It may be difficult to know what your recipient likes to wear if you do not see her everyday. However, you can get around this if you are able to call her parents and ask them what kind of clothes dominate her closet. Or, if you are her parent, you can sift through her clothes and find some inspiration there. Make sure that you have a gift receipt whenever you give clothes as gifts.

- Electronics: A digital camera or a new mp3 player will always be appreciated. Many electronics stores have sales and huge discounts whenever the holiday season rolls around. It's always a good idea to shop around before you buy, and try the merchandise before you make a decision. Look for reviews and ask the salespeople for comparisons. If you are purchasing a digital camera, try a few shots in the store. If you are looking for an mp3 player, ask for a demonstration.

- Gift cards/money: Teenagers always appreciate getting money or gift cards. These types of gifts allow them the freedom of choice, although the gift itself is not personalized. However, they will be able to do what they want with their gifts, which means that they will appreciate it even more.
