Christmas 2009: Gifts for tween boys

Giving Christmas gifts to tween boys can seem a bit difficult. First of all, you may not consider your preteen male recipient to be a "tween." Secondly, you might not know how to distinguish "tween"-related gifts to teen-related gifts or even gifts made for younger children. Fortunately, this is no problem as long as you know your recipient well enough to find a gift that is useful and interesting to him. The following article will help you find great gift ideas for tween boys this Christmas.

- LEGO sets: Although you may think that LEGO's are just for young kids, think again. LEGO's sets are made for various age groups. In fact, many, if not most, of them are appropriate for the "tween" age group, which usually ranges from age 10-13. Many of the LEGO sets are interesting. Some of them are Star Wars related. Find the set that seems the most appropriate (or interesting) to your recipient.

- Nintendo DS: This is a classic gaming console that has had a few good changes over the years. You can find this gaming console sold for less than $100, though the newer versions will run up to $150. However, they are great investments and your recipient will likely be very enthused and happy. To make the gift even more ideal, you can include a used game. A used game will not only be cheaper than a new one, it will make it easier for you to even include a game with the console at all.

- Instrument: The best way to stimulate a tween's mind is to encourage him to start playing (or start practicing) an instrument. Instruments can be expensive, but if you find a good place that sells used instruments, you can find great deals and bargains. Many tween boys will want to play "male-oriented" instruments, such as saxophones or guitars. However, find the instrument that your recipient wants to play. This will involve some clever interrogation.

- Bicycle: One of the best, and often overlooked, gifts is a bicycle. Your male tween recipient will enjoy having something to do on sunny summer days. Bicycles are relatively cheap, compared to the other gift ideas mentioned, and can last for many years if well cared for. Try to find a bicycle that will allow room for growth.

As you can see, finding the right gift for a male tween recipient is not difficult, as long as you follow some of these gift ideas.
