Beyond the shadow of a doubt, there is now a groundswell of anger that I anticipate will reach epidemic proportions within the next few years as we start calling for the heads and ousters of all who currently reside on Capitol Hill and to me personally, I believe that this time cannot come soon enough! The emphasis of this article is to question the moral fiber of those we have elected to look out for the welfare of the citizenry of our great nation. And from where I sit and observe, they have all failed us miserably!
I have maintained for years that we Americans have had the disease of apathy coarsing through our veins for years. When we were In better economic times we had corruption on every level, but it did not matter to us. Primarily because as long as we had that house we could not pay for, our SUV and our HDTV, everything was kosher and to hell with what they are doing on the hill In DC !
Our economic decline, the rescue of the financial elite and a 10% unemployment rate, will surely get the attention of anyone to focus on exactly what business is being conducted federally, statewide and locally. You only have to look back 30 plus years to know that we had a bunch of robber barons making our decisions.
We can start with Richard Nixon and Watergate. In the eyes of many, one of the greatest travesties of justice ever meted out to a disgraced President Richard Milhouse Nixon. But I ask you, Bill Clinton had a very large campaign contributor named Loral Corporation who sold sensitive military technology to China while he looked the other way.
As well as having Osama Bin Laden In the crosshairs and not pulling the trigger, just after two of our embassies and the USS Cole were bombed! Nixon lived in disgrace for what remained of his life. Bill Clinton now wrote a best selling book and has his wife as our Secretary of State. But who did the greater crime? And be honest when you ask yourself that!
I maintain also that Republicans are just about a shoo-in for the 2010 elections. And I ask, will that really be an improvement? We have a group of individuals who claim family values and yet one goes on a hike and ends up in Argentina with a woman not named Eva Peron. And also we have Larry Craig looking for favors in a Minnesota airport and then saying he did not mean to plead guilty?
Yep family values baby! But lets face it, the dems are not a whole hell of a lot better! Not to mention the fact that during the turn of the century we have probably the greatest disparity
