At eight years old; Nancy has lived in four cities, in four homes and has had four different babysitters. Although, she really hasn't minded moving at all. Nancy and her father had been round and round everywhere they went about monsters. It all started when Nancy was two years old. They lived in a two-story cabin; by a lake in , North Carolina . Every morning her babysitter Stella, would greet them as father was leaving for work. Stella would begin the day cooking breakfast , while Nancy would play on the front porch facing the lake. Each day , Nancy would scream fiercely as Stella was cooking. Stella ran to the porch every time, to see what was wrong with her. She would scoop her up and look her over to see if she was hurt. There never was one single mark on Nancy. So, Stella would take her inside and ask why she was screaming. All Nancy would scream over and over was, monster. Stella would giggle and go on with her daily routine as usual. About three o' clock she would lay Nancy down for a nap. Of course, there was a giant bay window by Nancy's bed. In about five minutes of laying down, she would scream in horror. Stella would take off from her chores and run to Nancy's room, everyday. As soon as Stella would open the door; Nancy would be chanting on abut a monster. She would take Nancy with her to finish out the day before father arrived. At five o' clock father would return home and Stella would tell him about the incidents twice a day, everyday. Mark would chuckle and say; she is never gonna stop doing this monster business. He and Stella would sit around and discuss ways to try to get her to understand that there was no monsters. Mark couldn't understand how a child that young would scream and cry like she really seen monsters. Before their discussion ended one day, Mark informed Stella that his job would be requiring them to make a sudden move.
