Poetry: I never knew

by Zina Fuller

I never knew.
You were in love with me.
You have to share those things.
I never knew.
You should have talked to me.
I never knew.
Until you told me, then nature's seasons swept right through me.
By then It wasn't the best time.
I never knew.
That If I die today.
You would be as broken hearted as the most important people in my family.
I never knew.
Well,  I guess it's for the best.
I never knew.
Life confusion would tell me a secret and then walk away.
I never knew.
That you wanted to take me with you.
I never knew.
