I would have never imagined myself living a full time RV lifestyle. When we decided to go on the road and travel part of our decision was based on our pets and that we did not want to have to get rid of them. Most RV parks will allow pets as long as you go by their very simple rules. This was a huge plus to us. Another reason we did this was to rid ourselves of some debt and bills. After our huge moving sale where we sold all of our belongings that wouldn't fit in an RV we took the cash we made and paid cash for our camper which is now our home. We only bought a small thirty two foot pull behind so we could decide if we were going to like this life or not. Though this camper was a good deal and has worked just fine for me and my husband, we are now looking into trading up so we can continue this life with a little more luxury.
You may think that this is not luxury, but that is where you are wrong. What else would you call a life where you can move in the blink of an eye with no problem and go where you want to go, when you want to go there? No matter how far we travel we are still at home every night just with a little different scenery to look at. With this lifestyle your monthly bills are low which gives you more money to travel or spend along your way. The most we have paid for a month is four hundred dollars and that included our cable TV. To be in the mountains of Asheboro, NC one night and see the snow falling and to be at Myrtle Beach the next day with the ocean just a short walk away is a luxury that I am so glad I have. I had always wanted to travel and just never thought it would be possible. I didn't even know that there are many people who live this life of pure luxury. The freedom of the road and the pure pleasure of seeing all of the beautiful sites in the great county of ours is a freedom that words cannot even explain. Yes, there are times when I miss my huge yard and swimming pool. But then I think about all the time and effort it took to maintain it and I realize again that I never want to give up this new life I have found. I love to meet the new people that I meet along the way. I love seeing the rivers, trees, plains, flatlands and all at my convenience.
If you want to work for a while you can sign up with some of the state parks or with workingcouples.com to secure a temporary job at an RV park. They can pay just the lot rent for your part time work to paying your lot rent plus a small salary at some parks. This gives you the ability to continue what you love doing and share your experiences with others. There are also services where they will forward your mail weekly to whatever location you will be at, so that you can always get your mail. You can pull up and go see family when you want to and leave when they get on your nerves with no problems. This goes the same for your neighbors. If you wind up near someone you don't like it is just so easy to pull up and move to another camp site.
There are some downsides to this lifestyle, such as not having a permanent address. If you are creative in thought you can get around these little obstacles of life. If you think about it nothing is all roses, it takes fertilizer too. We use my mother-in0laws address as our permanent one so we can have our license there. There are no obstacles too big. So if you are looking for an adventure that has the freedom of the road I can truly say that I highly recommend living a full time RV lifestyle.
