Why women are not the only ones to suffer from body image issues

In this world today all you see in magazines and on the television are those perfect men and woman who prep an hour before they can even do any work. It makes us want to be as good as them, which is too good to be real. On a majority of front covers in magazines you will see someone who probably looks a lot better than you do, but don't fret! These people are everyday people too, maybe god gave them better features, but they do not look like that when they get up in the morning. It is important in this world to keep a level head, to know that these perfect people aren't really real. There are many tricks that the camera plays as well, taking a picture from a certain angle will catch what you want to see. Not to mention the work it takes to get a person into makeup. They have airbrushing, make-up, and hair. The average woman spends about 30 minutes getting dressed and putting on makeup, this woman on the front page took an hour or two having someone else do it for her.

There are also a bunch of covers that make people look like they have a flawless body, and this isn't just woman. We are starting to see more and more of body builder type men. Again guys, this person spends a lot more time than you have to put into body building. As someone who has a career, you don't have time to build your body up all the time. You don't have time to research all the good mix drinks, and you probably don't have a personal trainer to keep you fit and eating right. It's important to remember that this is what that person does for a living, that person has the time to for everything that goes into being a body builder because it is their career! They also have their trainers who support them every step of the way, do you have someone making you do push ups every day and telling you how to eat?

It's not healthy to compare ourselves against other people because of the way we look. It's also not healthy to think that we aren't as good as someone just because they are flawless. Everyone is put on this earth to pursue what they were put here for, and some people were put here to look at. Us others will just have to resort to using our brains, which in most cases being smart is better than being extremely good looking.
