There are several completely natural ways to have more energy throughout the day. Most are quite easy. It is simply a matter of being aware of healthier choices. Combine these methods as you work toward a healthy and energetic lifestyle.
The first way to have more energy throughout the day actually starts the night before. Get seven hours of quality sleep. Decorate your bedroom as a relaxing retreat. Help your body to relax by doing stretching exercises before going to bed. Stretch again upon awakening in the morning.
Go for a 20 minute brisk walk every morning. The human body is designed as a work machine and brisk walking revs up the metabolism to provide more energy throughout the day. Walking allows the heart to feed extra oxygen to the brain which increases mental alertness and physical energy.
Eat six small meals every day to keep the body nourished at closer intervals. This is one of the best ways to have more energy since the insulin and glucose levels will be more balanced. The metabolism works faster when digesting food and as a result you will feel more energized. Consume high protein foods at every meal. Protein is turned into energy. Some good choices for protein are eggs, lean meat, nuts, and seafood with fins.
Many people feel tired instead of thirsty when they are mildly dehydrated. Eat fruits that will hydrate the body such as watermelon, citrus, strawberries, peaches, nectarines, and apricots. Your body will also benefit from the nutrients that these foods offer. Drink water, brewed tea, or fruit juice for instant hydration.
If you want more mental energy, then have a slice of blueberry pie. Blueberries are brain food and will increase mental alertness. Other filling yet healthy choices are celery and cream cheese, cucumber and cream cheese sandwich, carrot sticks with avocado dip, celery with peanut butter, and swiss cheese. All of these foods will pack nicely in a lunch bag and offer a healthy way to have more energy throughout the day.
Keep several large leafy plants in every room of your home and , if possible, at work. Leafy plants remove toxins from the air and release fresh oxygen. People feel more energy when they are breathing fresh air. This is especially important for those who spend much time indoors during the winter months.
Stop multitasking as it causes mental fatigue. Follow a project through from start to finish and then proceed to the next task. This will allow the brain to commit the details of the task to memory in a way which does not happen when people are juggling multiple assignments and not finishing anything. The resulting feeling of accomplishment of the completed tasks is another natural way to feel more energy throughout the day.
Combine these methods of a good night's sleep, brisk walking, frequent small meals, and healthy food choices to have more energy throughout the day.
