When we judge others, we have to ask ourselves these questions? Are we God? Are we capable of judging others? If we are, are we judging them correctly? If we are not judging them correctly, what is the point of judging others? It is pointless to judge others if we cannot judge them correctly or fairly. Jesus said, "But if I do judge, my decisions are right, because I am not alone. I stand with the Father, who sent me" (John 8:14). The Bible also said, "Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy" (Proverbs 31:9). If we are going to judge, we should judge others righteously. We should not judge others without any justification. We should not twist justice or show any favoritism toward anyone if we are going to judge (Leviticus 19: 15).
Judging others based on how they dress and based on their physical appearance is meaningless. Just because people put on nice clothes and look attractive does not mean they are good people. Similarly, we also cannot tell if people who dress poorly and look unattractive are good or not either. We really do not know who they are until we get to know them. We do not know what people have gone through in life just by looking and judging what they wear. Therefore, it is pointless to judge others based on outside appearance.
Besides judging others based on outside appearance is pointless, judging others based on what they should do and have is meaningless. For instance, some of us judge others when they are not married, have a good paying job, a nice car, and a nice house at certain age. Some of us think we are better than others because of what they do not have. As some of us continue to think like that, we are judging and looking down on them. This attitude is wrong. Just because they do not have things that some of us have at certain ages, it does not mean that we can look down and judge them of who they really are. Remember, we all have freedom to choose when and who we are going to get married. We all can have different material things and different jobs at certain ages. It is not against the law that we all have different lives and material things. The law does not say that we all should do and have certain things at certain ages.
It is also meaningless to judge others based on their past. Just because they have messed up their life in the past, it does not mean that we can judge them. After all, we all have messed up once in a lifetime. So, why do we even judge others or saying bad things about that person?
