While it can be fun to comb the shops for attractive Christmas tree decorations every year, it can also get expensive. Investing in a timeless look means you can reuse your decorations year after year instead of going with the trend of the moment. The tree has become an integral part of Christmas celebrations. Its evergreen nature symbolizes the promise of life everlasting and of course it also has the power to bring family and friends together during the holiday season to gaze at its magnificence.

If you are looking for a classic look this Christmas try any one if the themes below.

Family Tree

Gather some family photos and make sure everyone is represented, from grandma and grandpa to the family dog. You can either make black and white prints of them or use the colored versions. The next step is to get a collection of miniature frames. You can spray the frames all one color, white or silver might be a nice choice. Pop the pictures into the frames and dangle them on the branches of your tree using a strong string attached to the hook at the back of the frame. This brings family into focus for Christmas the way they should be.

Patriotic Tree

If you're nuts for stars and stripes, how about putting up a patriotic themed Christmas tree? You can use miniature flags and decorate the rest of the tree with a series of stars in red, white and blue. Of course the tree top can be a huge shining star as well.

Snow Angel Tree

Snow angels are perfect for Christmas. They encapsulate everything that is delicate and virtuous and they are beautiful to look at. You can find them in clear glass figurines or more expensive crystal or even white porcelain. Which ever material you choose will be beautiful and when paired with plain yellow lights your tree will give off a gorgeous glow.

Silvery Sparkle Tree

Silver bells and ropes of sparkly thread can be twisted around the entire tree to create a glitzy version of Christmas. White ribbon can be tied into bows or dangled in twirls from the end of branches. The lights are an added touch of glamour, because what's sparkle without a bit of glow?

The most important element in decorating your Christmas tree is of course to be surrounded by those who bring you good cheer!
