To name the sexiest actresses in movie history is almost impossible because there have been so many beautiful women over the decades. I will give you my top ten favorites but it is difficult to end at ten.

1. Rita Hayworth was an extremely sexy and beautiful woman whom I admire so much. Her role as "Gilda" made her one of the sexiest screen stars in all of movie history. Unfortunately for her, Gilda was the woman men dreamed about. She once quoted "Every man I have ever known has fallen in love with Gilda and awakened with me". She was a WWII pin up and earned the nickname The Great American Love Goddess. Life magazine's photo of Rita Hayworth kneeling on a bed in lingerie in 1941 was her best known pin up allowing Life to sell over five million copies throughout the years of the war. Her image was also placed on the first nuclear bomb to be tested after WWII. In 1995, Rita Hayworth was chosen as one of the 100 sexiest stars in film history by Empire magazine.

2. Marilyn Monroe was a curvy and voluptuous beauty who was also acclaimed a sex goddess. Her roles on the big screen were sensual performances such as "Some Like It Hot" and "How to Marry a Millionaire" which made her known as the best loved blond bombshell to the world. In 1962, she was named the Worlds Film Favorite Female at the Golden Globes.

3. Vivien Leigh struggled most of her life with illnesses but managed to come across the silver screen with outstanding sexy performances such as Scarlet O'Hara in "Gone with the Wind" and Blanche Dubois in "A Streetcar Named Desire". One other film that stands out for me was her role in "Waterloo Bridge". All her performances produced strong acting with a great sense of sex appeal.

4. Greta Garbo with her deep husky voice was as sexy as they get. Most beautiful and sexy was her role in "Camille" where she played the courtesan in Paris and falls in love. A love story with a very dramatic and passionate ending. Greta Garbo was #5 on the American Film Institute's 50 Greatest Screen Legends and was also voted by the Guinness Book of World Records for being the most beautiful woman that ever lived.

5. Lauren Bacall was another beauty who displayed a deep husky voice but very sensual in her role with Humphrey Bogart in the movie "To Have and to Have Not" in 1944. One of her most remembered lines was in the hotel room when she said "You know how to whistle, don't you Steve? You just put your lips together and blow" very risque for that time but a very sexy moment
