Has anyone seen an angel soaring across the night sky glowing beautifully against the darkness ?. Probably not, but no one has seen God either. Angels are real and you can only connect with them spiritually. Just as you can only serve God through spirit and truth, angels are present with you through your belief in an higher power. Many of us have seen beautiful drawings of angels and have read about them in holy scripture, but some people don't know that satan was an angel before he became the "father of lies" as stated in Bible scripture. The belief in angels are rooted in your soul and connected through faith and your never ending hunger for knowledge and wisdom.

The word "angel" comes from the Greek word aggelos, which mean messenger. I believe angels are here to protect us from evil and to deliver us a message of hope, that their is higher power looking out for us. The Bible stated several categories of angels such as cherubim, seraphim, and archangel. Cherubims were first mention in the book of Genesis 3:24. They were said to be living creatures supporting the throne of God. Ezekial descibed them as compound figures possessing the features of animals.Cherubims were symbolical, and they represented the spiritual existence in direct contact with God. Another type of angel is the seraphim. The seraphims are said to be the fiery ones, the fiery serpents. They are talked about in Isaiah 6:2,3,6,7. Their form appeared to be human-like with wings attached. The archangel is also another type of angel. The archangel was the chief angel or prince of all angels. First Thessolonians 4:16 and Jude 1:9 speaks about the mighty archangel."For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God,and the dead in Christ shall rise again," 1 Thess. 4:16.

God created all angels wholly, but some refused to obey by God's rules and were cast out and labeled demons. Probably the the king of all demons is satan. The story of the devil or satan is a interesting tale. Lucifer was the devil's name in heaven and he was an archangel, the highest of all angels. To make a long story short, lucifer tried to take over God's kingdom and he was cast down from heaven with his followers for eternity.

The story and the history behind the angel is amazing. Whether you believe that they are real or imaginary is your on perception or belief. You can't deny the mystery behind this debate. While we are going about our business and carrying out our daily lives, i am sure that our gaurdian angel will be watching over us.
