It's too high up there...
A spiral staircase winds around
a tower, leading from the ground
to castle keep, so very high
it seems to almost reach the sky
No place to dwell for any length
of time, none have the kind of strength
it takes to live up in that place
so far removed from life's embrace
In time the vertigo begins
from deep within, the tower spins
until the fall when all is lost
The keeper pays a heavy cost
Across the mote beyond the wall
an acrophobe recalls it all...
