My granddad spoke of simple things,
and grandma said, "embrace it son,
life ain't all pearls and golden rings,
sometimes it's just a setting sun,
that ends a day as you may wish,
when you are not so young of heart,
and water sparkles not the fish,
and true love lost will always smart,
but people are resilient",

amidst the lumps of frozen soil,

beside a soul when there is chance,
of finding her one awful day,
reminding me, life is a glance.
