The hottest new laptops for Christmas 2009 are the newest and fastest of the 2010 models, like Hewlett-Packard's Pavilion Series, Sony's Vaio series and, of course, for those with lots of money left over from the stock crash, there is always the Sun Micro-system. Want enough power to navigate the Hubble Telescope through space and take some nifty pictures of other Galaxies? Or do you just want to read e-books, crawl the web, send and receive email and pictures, play movies and music? Whatever your computing needs, there is a laptop just waiting for you or your loved ones to enjoy.

Try a Sun Micro-system, a Quad-Core, single socket system that has about 50 Terra-bytes of data storage. More than enough for every book and movie ever made, plus your own creations, to be stored in a side folder. 512 Giga-Bytes (GB) of DDR memory makes this the fastest home computer for application software, like 3-D modelling and animation production, using CGI and other film-making software.

If you want to buy someone a nice, compact computer for travelling, but they already have a good laptop, then buying a rather cheap web computer, at under $400, could be a great gift. Just fast and strong enough to handle pictures and chatting, music and movies, with some web crawling thrown in for food measure. Sort of like a 4-G phone on steroids. Touch screen technology, voice-activated commands and typing, as well as web camera and excellent sound with a built-in sub-woofer. Designed for fun, the Pavilion series of notebook computers run from uner $650 to over $2800. You can personalize many of the models by selecting your processor, memory size and allocation, and installed programs, with screens up to 18.4 inches of high definition viewing.

Sony is always a strong contender in most technological advancements and products. The Sony Vaio is a strong contender in the laptop industry. From e-readers to gaming computers, Sony has one of the most varied selections of laptops, with style and a strong reputation for quality. From as thin as one inch, and as little as four pounds in weight, these powerhouse laptops are excellent gifts for the technologically advanced to the first-time computer users.

Most new computers now are carrying Windows 7, which makes personalization and remote use. Designed by the people for the people, Windows asked what features their customers most wanted, and implemented the most desired features for a user-friendly personal computer experience.
