Poetry: My destiny

Destiny Personified

Carlos Alberto Jaramillo, charming, muse-like sprite

Like the whiff of sulfur contained by a match you hold your fire in so tight

As I have only seen within me-that drive I know I cannot fight

CJ, sharing your career's vision so very motivated and proud

Like a sudden burst of water from a laden cloud

Unknowingly giving me a glimpse of an achievable horizon from which I had cowed

Boss Man, offering opportunity as though it flows for you like some stream

Like the revival of an elusive image from my eyes a hopeful gleam

And treated my work like it was a favor for you as "thank YOU," I, all but, scream

Carlos, accepting friendship I hid behind that false dichotomy's glow

Like the welcome end to a bad reality show

You reminded me of true camaraderie's reciprocity with each lift of your brow
