The reason I say no is not because I think it is wrong to have a meal with your best friend beside you, but because some dogs shed more than others, some people don't clean their dogs, and watching a big dog drool while you are trying to enjoy your soup can be a little disgusting for some people. No one in a restaurant is going to want a dog hair in their soup. I mean don't owners get enough of that at home. Imagine them taking a big bite out of their soup and all of a sudden there is this dog hair stuck to their uvula and they start choking. Second, if an owner does not clean their dog then it stinks. A smelly dog can be enough for some people to get them gagging. Some dog are even covered in mud so they track it around everywhere and the restaurant looks like someone threw a mud bomb in it. Third, there are the big drooling dogs. Have you ever been setting there eating a delicious meal and then you look over and your dog has a big glob of drool hanging from their face. It's slimy and smelly and it looks like someone's snot. Can you imagine your dog jumping up on someone's table and dropping a big glob of drool on their food. The only real time I think a dog should be allowed into a restaurant with its owner is if the man or woman is disabled or if the dog is prone to violent seizures that the owner has to be their for so the dog does not hurt itself.

Most people are going to say that it is not fair to leave their dog at home, that it makes them feel bad when they see the dogs big brown eyes looking back at them. For one, the dog does not care where you have been, it could care less that you had steak for dinner. Dogs do not care what they eat as long as they eat. All they care about is that you are home and they get to spend time with the leader of the pack. If you still feel bad then maybe you should start taking your dog out for walks or to swim when and if you go. Basically, if you are not blind, severely disabled in some way, or you dog is not prone to violent seizures the dog should stay home while you go out for dinner.
