Happy families don't just happen, at the nucleus are folks dedicated to making them work. Those in charge have philosophies about life that are cheerful and forward-looking. Love is at the heart of their existence. Each works to ensure everyone has a voice and stays basically on the same page.
There is a lot of freedom for each family member to grow in happy families as each wants to see the other succeed. Happy families usually have visions for their unit that allows them the opportunity to direct or re-direct family members when they veer off course. Below are some of the ingredients one is likely to find in happy families.
Ingredients:
Make Time for Prayer
Families should pray together and ask for direction and guidance. Matthew 6:33 states, "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things will be added unto you." If a family puts God first in all things, He will put it first.
Develop Ethical Standards
Families should have household rules and all should be involved in creating them. They should all be held accountable for conformity. Each standard should be discussed as well as the ramifications for failure to comply. For example, children should know the consequences beforehand of using drugs and drinking alcohol, etc.
Have Fun and Laughter Together
Family members should try to be connected as often as possible. Board games are still in vogue and should not be discouraged in favor or video games. For example, Scrabble and Monopoly continue to be two of the best board games and they also allow for conversation. As often as possible, the family should find occasions to laugh out loud.
Respect and love each Other
Family members should listen and show consideration for each other’s views. By listening, each is showing respect even if there's disagreement. Additionally, when they listen they show each other they value and appreciate their input. Love is a many splendid things, which means no one definition defines it. In families it usually means they cherish each other.
Maintain Truth and loyalty
Family members do not betray each other’s confidence by discussing what goes on in the confines of the home. In happy families, truth is a mainstay and should never be non-negotiable if the family is to stay on course. Lying erodes relationships and will eventually destroy the vision. A happy family will not allow outside forces to upset the unit's equilibrium as each member realizes loyalty is also a mainstay for sustained happiness.
Directions:
Blend all ingredients well, and practice each day. If you make time for prayer, have a code of ethical standards, show respect and love for each other; ensure fun and laughter and maintain truth and loyalty you will have the perfect recipe for a well-rounded, happy and well-adjusted family.
