Time stands still in the night
yet my heart races against fear
shadows appear from a distant universe
my soul takes flight
precious moments I contain
wrap them up in satin and lace
flowing in the wind 'cross the hills
thoughts of peace keep me sane
tumbling through a tunnel of darkness
my soul does not feel free
can it be not of this world?
I find myself settling for less
breathe the air from beyond
to exceed visions of the future
what will remain of me?
does my soul have a bond?
time races from year to year
no longer in control of my destiny
I open my heart to embrace thee
for life to me is dear
