Poetry: Suicidal thoughts

by Melissa Sparks

Created on: October 27, 2009

Time stands still in the night

yet my heart races against fear

shadows appear from a distant universe

my soul takes flight

precious moments I contain

wrap them up in satin and lace

flowing in the wind 'cross the hills

thoughts of peace keep me sane

tumbling through a tunnel of darkness

my soul does not feel free

can it be not of this world?

I find myself settling for less

breathe the air from beyond

to exceed visions of the future

what will remain of me?

does my soul have a bond?

time races from year to year

no longer in control of my destiny

I open my heart to embrace thee

for life to me is dear
