Child molesters should receive the death penalty. Some of them murder children and end their lives through violence while they are using and abusing them, either for sexual gratification and/or monetary gain. But the many who do not kill their victims, where the victims are allowed to return to the bossom of their family life as it was before, are never the same again.

Many of them grow up with personality disorders, depression and anxiety and unable to trust anyone or form a close friendship, let alone fall in love and let themselves go physically. I have worked as a private therapist for many years helping victims of such abuse and seen some terrible cases of people who are now aged 60+ who were abused when younger, sometimes by one of their own family, and have had decades of a sad and miserable life because of it.

They do not live, they do not know happiness, they are constantly living a lonely fearful existence. Some get so fed up with it, and understandably so, that they try to commit suicide in a desperate effort to end their suffering.

The child molester is considered to be mentally ill, or at least not thinking straight. This we can all agree on. The only people who would not agree with that are other child molesters. But many child molesters are aged 25-35 and married with children of their own. They do know what they are doing. They may well feel an intense urge to have some sort of sexual activity that they know is morally and legally wrong, and terribly unfair on the child and the childs loved ones, yet they ignore those thoughts and carry on regardless.

Nobody can help being mentally ill but they can help doing things which they know are wrong. We can all have urges we have to curb for our sakes and for other peoples' sakes. We may get very angry with another motorist and feel like punching him in the face or throwing a brick through a neighbour's window, but we do not because we know it is harmful to that other person. The harm that is inflicted on children who are victims of child molesters is far worse than a punch or a brick through a window.

It stays with them and never ever leaves them. They often end up having awful nightmares where they wake up sweating and screaming and this may continue till the day they die. Inbetween they become reclusive hermits who trust no one, or they become abusers and bullies themselves. Whichever way they turn they are miserable and it is not really their fault.

A responsible caring child molester has a tongue
