What exactly makes an ad stand out? Business owners know what they want their ad to convey; the importance of their product and why people need it. However, the biggest thing to consider is how this point will be made. The simplest choice that most make is to simply state what needs to be known, but mixed in with the other ads created by competitors to promote their own products can lead to an overflow of similar ads that seem to all blend together.
Radio Personalities hear advertisements for the majority of their work day; whether it's hearing the ads that play during their air shift, or the ads that they produce for clients themselves. Sometimes all the advertisements that are heard behind them become nothing more than white noise to them. When an ad manages to catch the attention of even a DJ, there must be something quite special about that ad.
Take a creative approach to get your information out there; something that can manage to even snatch the attention of someone who deals with advertisements all day. A personality recently went back into his show log to pull up a commercial to replay for himself simply because of the unexpected humor of it; an ad for cold medicine that listed an over-abundance of impossible claims. The serious tone of the ad at first made it seem like yet another medicine ad, but when the words being spoken registered in his mind, the DJ was compelled to listen to it again. He had the ability to immediately replay the ad that caught his attention. An actual radio listener would be keeping their ears open for that ad to run once more.Having a sense of humor about your product can make your prospective audience curious about what you're selling; a reason to come see what it is you have to offer.
Originality sets your product or business out from the crowd, offering your clients something new to be curious about. What makes your product so special? In a sea of thousands of other businesses, you need something to make yours unique. A creative approach can make you not only stand out, but be in a class all your own. Creative advertising can lead to your audience enjoying your advertisements, as well as anticipating the next ads to come out. In some cases, people will start to describe or pass along your advertisement for others to enjoy, not only letting them enjoy the humor of it but also increasing your market!
