I was going through life, as always before.
Dreading each morning I exited the door.
My days were a canvas with no color to show,
From home to work was all I lived for.
But on this one evening unlike any before,
I was sitting alone, then came a knock at my door.
It was a friend of mine from my high school days,
And he invited my out to some crazy place.
At first I declined, as you can surely see why,
That wasn't for me, its was too out of line.
My life was simple, well dull if you wish,
I should just stay home and have none of it.
Of course I gave in after hearing his pleas,
Just have a few drinks, then we can leave.
He was my friend of friends after all,
So I grabbed my coat as we exited the hall.
It was dark and smoky and the music was loud,
I could see right away this wasn't my crowd.
But it wouldn't be long, then we would leave,
Just a couple of drinks while we shoot the breeze.
Two drinks led to three, then the band began to sing,
We spoke of days gone by and what the future may bring.
It wasn't so bad but I was ready to go home,
When a woman smiled at me, and my body turned to stone.
She approached where I sat and I couldn't conceive
If what I saw was real or simply make believe.
I had read of them in the Bible but never seen one for real,
But lo and behold an Angel had appeared.
As she got closer to my table ,came plainer into sight,
I knew I had seem the most beautiful thing in life.
She sat down at my table, not an inkling of fear.
My name is Lynn, and what is yours my dear.
We talked and talked until late in the night,
About things like work and family and life.
For the first time in years I could finally smile,
How glad I am I went out that night.
Life is no longer dreary and blue, and I love getting up
To welcome each day.
Because now she's mine and I am hers
Forever and ever: for better or for worse.

I was going through life, as always before.

My days were a canvas with no color
by Jenifer Rose
My heart had been shattered
In too many pieces to mend
I really had no intention
Of ever falling in love again
But there

Unplanned love
I never
Believed in
Yet walking
Round the corner
The eyes
Matched up
Both ways
The bells spoke
Mum and dad
Were in
by L. Merlino
It's difficult
'cross time and space
then suddenly
you see his face
not the soul behind it.
till suddenly it is too late
you're
I love the way you look at me
The way you know exactly what I’m thinking
And how you’re thinking the same thing
