Poetry: If I die today

by Elizabeth Elia

Created on: October 27, 2009

If I die today
would anyone notice my absence?
Or would I just be forgotten
just another life gone without a thought

If I die today
would anyone cry at my funeral?
would they feel such pain and despair that I am gone
would they feel like life would never be the same?
Or would everyone stand impatient, in a hurry to leave
not giving me another look, another thought as they leave?

If I die today
would anyone care?
Would anyone mourn my absence and wish it a dream?
Or would I just be a hassle, a good riddance
forever forgotten and never remembered
