What is really going on? Did this trend of very young girls wearing sexually revealing and suggestive clothing start with Brittainy Spears? I won't blame this problem solely on any one person. I will say the advertisers seek to exploit, titillate and gain your attention and dollars by any means necessary. Who could forget the racy Calvin Klein commercials in the early eighties that beckoned young girls and hormone raging boys in by saying" Nothing comes between me and my Calvins", insinuating these jeans were worn without panties and you could see this for yourself because of the sleek tight fit of the jeans.

By today's standards this seems mild in the wake of fourteen year old girls getting breast enhancement surgery. Parents buying sexy lingerie seem modest compared to any parent that would consent and pay for this intrusive, expensive and sometimes dangerous surgery. Booty shorts as they are called by the teens are shorts that may reveal the cheeks and the imprint of the buttocks for all of the world to see.

Music videos are the prime culprit. The video vixens suggest to young ladies that they will be the most popular wearing this clothing and will attract all of the bad boys. Since when did the trend go from good decent young men to bad boys that probably will be disrespectful and treat you poorly? Wake up young ladies! You really do deserve better?

Peer pressure seems to be the most prevalent culprit. No one wants to be left out of this tasteless loop. Let's face the true and relevant facts. Most teens are not buying this "trashy" clothing, their parents are being hood winked by their teens and told such garbage as, "Everyone wears that mom/dad." The reality is you may see mothers and daughters dressed like twins with the very same clothing. Are these mothers trying to live their lives through their young daughters, that still have all of their body parts that have not been affected by the pull of gravity? Shame on you mom!

Dressing as though, you can handle all of that negative attention can reek havoc on teen girls and lead to behaviors that may cause promiscuity, S.T.D. and even pregnancy. I believe young girls should appropriately dress for their age. See through and butte out are just not appropriate for any age. I know that may make me sound like I'm the morality judge. I'm simply looking out for young girls, who don't know to look out for themselves and sometime their mothers may think it's cute. It is not cute! Let's just leave something for the imagination and for those that don't understand that. That simply means there is a lot of work to do for you.
