Reasons why some college students don't want part-time jobs

Most college students these days need to find part-time jobs in order to help pay the costs of college. I'm not talking about the cost of tuition, I'm talking about the costs of everyday items that are needed to survive. Things like books, food, supplies, gas, and the other stuff that you need in order to live your life. However, some college students don't want to have part-time jobs. What are the reasons behind some students not wanting part-time jobs?

Some students are lucky enough to have parents who are willing to just pay for whatever they need. Either they have the money to help out, or they just attribute it to the cost of college, so they are willing to help pay for what their kid needs. When the parents are willing to help pay for the cost of college, why would a college student want to waste time with a job? They don't really need the money if mom and dad are willing to pay for it.

Some students are willing to work, but simply don't have the time to work because of class obligations. Whether it be that the classes have labs that take up extra time, or the homework demands are simply too much, there is just no time to find a job. There are some majors in which this is a legitimate argument for not having a part-time job. A science major is clearly going to be spending a lot more time studying than an English major might.

If a college student is also an athlete, the sports might take up a lot of time. Between film study, practice, lifting weights, and other commitments to the team, it might be hard to fit in some time to get a job. Luckily most schools will offer athletes a free ride through college in order to make up for the lack of time that would be spent working to pay off college. They also get to play sports too, which is cool.

Often times it could just be that the average college student just wants to enjoy being a college student. College doesn't last forever, and while they might be lacking funds often times, there are some experiences that you aren't going to get again in life. You won't be able to simply hang out all night on Saturday's, or be able to go to class for three hours and have the rest of the day to yourself to eat pizza and play video games. Soak it up while you can.

College is a different experience for everyone. Some people have to study harder than others, and some might have other obligations that keep them from getting a job. When mom and dad help out, it makes a job seem like a non-issue, so some students don't get one. College should be a time of learning, and having fun, and work should revolve around that.
