Not everyone knows how properly to prepare a car for the winter season. A detailed car diagnostic should be done between seasons, but mostly drivers don't have time or money. Here is a to-do list which must be done if you want to winterize your car. By the way, much things you can do yourself!

1) Generator. Most road accidents occur due to poor visibility. As the car comes the generator support beam, it is important to verify that it runs properly. It is advisable to change the light bulbs, but don't forget that even the best light bulbs will not help if the car generator is weak.

2) Accumulator. It's very important to have a good one. If your car accumulator is too weak, your car will not move. When the battery is too powerful, it will not warm in time and your car will drive just a short distance. So it is important to check the accumulator status.

Before that, it is also advisable to clean the engine, because it can significantly increase the cost of oil. Also draw your attention to the brake fluids.

4) Wipers. Many drivers neglect warm up the car properly and thoroughly clean the windows. Remember that bad sight significantly reduces visibility. If the ice remains on the glass, even ta highest quality of glass will be exposed to micro scratches.

5) Locks and doors. If the car doors is frozen, the rubber eventually may tear. To prevent this, it is advisable to put a silicone grease lubricant on those parts. It will protect rubber from the cold.

6) Protection against rust. It's a wide variety of anti-corrosion tools. So it is better if you buy it on summer time. However, resistance to corrosion in many cases depends on the car. Salt may damage metal. So don't forget to wash the car more often on these winter days.

7) Tires. Riding with summer tires in winter is very dangerous. If you plan to spend more time on highway, it would be useful to consider the special winter tires, which will be useful on ice slick. Compared to summer tires pressure, winter tires pressure should increase +0,2 bar.
