Ready or not Thanksgiving is on its way. It's peeking around the corner ready to indulge its consumers in just 30 days! Every year the hostess is left with the wonderment of creating a beautiful table filled with succulent food. Although the table is full of the delicacies of a Thanksgiving harvest something seems to be missing. That perfect one of a kind centerpiece that puts warm feelings in the hearts of your guests. As the holiday rolls in go to the looking glass for some truly special ideas for this years Thanksgiving centerpiece. "What will make my table extraordinary and my guests enriched with happiness?"
This holiday season go for the gold in your fair Thanksgiving centerpiece. Embellish the table with bold rich gold designs, elements and sparkle.
Thankful for the fruit
Fruit baskets are an age old complement to any tablescape. Fill a wicker basket, wire basket or a galvanized bucket. Line the container with a gold cloth complimentary of Thanksgiving. Fill your basket or bucket with raffia mimicking the look of hay. Then fill your basket to the brim with colorful fruits, real or fake. Add small accents along the way, evergreen, pinecones, walnuts or acorns. Tie a ribbon around the front of the basket or onto the handle using a fine cloth such as brown velvet trimmed in gold. All around your fruit basket adorn the centerpiece with gourds, berries and gold shavings sprinkled along the tablecloth.
Let there be light
White twinkle lights strung across the tablescape is a great way to incorporate tradition meets trend. The lights are a brilliant way to showcase first-string china, glasses and grand handed-down serving platters. Use items that light can illuminate and reflect off of. Create a warm glow around your centerpiece and entire table setting. Set small candles at every place setting giving cordial warmth to your guests as they sit down to dine. Set pinecones rolled in gold glitter on the center of your plates with names of your guests placed into the tops. Play with the idea of using empty wine bottles as candle holders, it's whimsical, rich and a great way to house candles using height to draw the eye up from the table.
A merry mix
Christmas isn't long after Thanksgiving so think about using gold Christmas balls in your fruit basket. Set them along the center of the table or group them together in a separate bowl. Add a farmer's lantern or two on each end of the centerpiece for an extra glow of hearty light. Let your fruit and other accents spill out of the basket and around the lanterns. Wrap small easy to ply grapevine around the handle and through the sides of the lantern creating more primary contrast to your centerpiece. Red berries typical of Christmas is indulgent of Thanksgiving as well. Group red berries in glass bowls adding pinecones, acorns, or fall foliage for more suited Thanksgiving attire.
Just as you give thanks for the food on this special holiday so should you love the tablescape. Using gold in your centerpiece is lavish and inviting to your table. Also graceful for eyes to look at your guests will feel cheerful and indulgent as they feast at a fine table this Thanksgiving holiday.
