I cried many tears
During our marriage
Through the years
Limited tears of joy,
Mostly tears of pain,
Being silent through it all
My body feeling the strain
Betrayal at the broken vow
Embarrassment, disappointment, anger
Were the emotions I daily entertained
Divorce was a relief
I could finally breathe
When it was over
I found no time to grieve
Through mixed emotions
I found laughter again
I found hope and myself
The wounds were on the mend
I thank you for divorcing me
For allowing me to grow
Allowing me to find my voice
And allowing my strength to show.

Conformity is your demand.
