Getting married around Halloween opens up a whole cupboard full of themes for topping your wedding cake. Amusing, lighthearted, spooky, or down and out right ghoulishly delightful, there are hundreds to choose from. The standard plastic bride and groom images are gone at this time of year, and it is a very different bride and groom available to top wedding cakes as they appear. Dracula and his bride, the headless horseman and his lady, Mr. and Mrs. Mummy or Frankenstein and his bride. It can be a pair of pumpkins, ghosts, ghouls, zombies or black cats you are only limited by your very over creative imagination on this one.
If you are looking for unique ideas for Halloween wedding cake toppers well take a peek into any magazine, store window, or decorated yard and you will find one. These images are all too easy to turn into a scene to sit at the top of your wedding cake.
Cemetery
There is just something about a graveyard filled with cement colored tombstones that makes a person feel a little creepy. Well if creepy is the feeling that you are looking for at your wedding, then decorate the top of your cake with little grave mounds, and tombstones. A few desperate bony hands reaching out from the ground tend to add a very nice touch to your graveyard. While a spooky old tree in one corner tends to add just that little extra atmosphere. In the center of your spooky graveyard there should sit two extra large tombstones. The names displayed on these two headstones will of course be the current blissful couple of Mr. and Mrs Whomever, and the date of their demise will be the actual blessed wedding date, how very appropriate for the occasion.
Haunted House
Small decorative plastic houses are available at most novelty, and department stores, or you can have a baker fashion one from icing. The happy couple can be standing outside of their blissful home. Your couple can be vampires, witch and warlock, ghouls, zombies or ghosts. If they are witches be sure to have matching his and her brooms leaning against the house. Having a small black cat sitting beside the house tends to add a nice homey feeling to the picture.
Pumpkin patches just naturally symbolize Halloween and they are so easy to create on the top of a cake. Whether you are having plastic, or icing pumpkins in your patch, it is nice to have them fully decked out in Halloween attire. The two largest Halloween pumpkins will be situated snuggled next to each other and of course be decked out in full
