It is the individual that determines the importance of the power of God in their own life and thankfully, many individuals are beginning to think for themselves instead of allowing the power of their church to do it for them. Even so, the churches have created a God that is far removed from the kind of God the world needs now just as it did in the past. God was 'fashioned' to appear in whatever form or inspired thought was required of the time.
God has once again been transformed even now as we move into a more enlightened period. More and more people are stepping out of their familiar thinking and searching within for the answers that have always been there. With the guidance of more realistic teachings and calling on the knowledge of the philosophers of the past, God is always as God was. A powerful energy capable of creating incredible things and able to move mountains with a thought, a feeling or an inspiration. God is not a person but many because God is you and me and everyone you know and have ever known. It was 'life', meaning the people of the earth, who sent one of their sons to atone for the sins of the world. Combined, our thoughts are the father of creation and 2000 years ago, the thoughts of the generation needed a fall guy. And Jesus, because he was gentle and kind and loving and a thinking man well ahead of his time, Jesus was the man 'life' called upon to redeem itself.
The relevance of anything in your life that allows you to be who you really are is as important as you yourself are to the world. If who you are says that you are a Christian, believing in God, the father, the son and the holy ghost, then you are blessed. If who you are believes in something like a higher being that may or may not be termed God, then congratulations. You have established yourself among those who are comfortable in their knowledge of who they are and believe in themselves without need for confirmation from others. Beware though that who you are is not based on the thoughts of another of how you should be. Society has a major role in determining who we think we are. Dig beneath the layers of stories you have ever heard and find your truth and you see who you really are in relation to those stories including who you think God really is. An angel, a larger than life human, an impressive energy or just a thought.
Relevant in todays world? Yes because your peace with God is whatever YOU think God is!
