Without a doubt cats rank up there as the funniest. Were talking about domestic pets I'm thinking. Never knew how truly funny they can be until trying just about anything to get a different reaction.
The confusing thing about them is that they are just as mysterious. No gray area, just one extreme to the other. Almost any other animal responds to a call or invite as though it were just normal to do so. But a cat? Different. Either they are so smart that they don't just jump to your beck and call like a dog would, or they are too stupid to know what your doing when you call for them
to come to you. Sure with some practice you can get them to respond, but limited.
Probably the funniest thing is when they loudly belch out a meowrrrrrrr as a result of them investigating something and it ends up scaring the fur balls out of them. They are pretty entertaining if one takes the time to enjoy inducing something that makes them react in a way you can't help but laugh pretty hard. This is my first time interacting with a cat. It was a gift to my wife. Just never knew what I've been missing.
There are so many funny instances whereas she would do something that just amazes me, and there was this one instance of many when she kept watching up close every time I would turn on the TV, and it was as though she understood what I was doing. In this one instance, she sat in front of the TV by the power button, and would look over her shoulder at me as if to say "hey, aren't you going to push the button?"
She did this a few times, and then decided to place her paw onto the power button. This just wasn't something she was prepared for, because the night before, I was watching a concert, and had the TV really loud so as to enjoy the music. When the Tv powered up, a huge blast of sound emanated, and she leaped so high, she landed right on top of the TV, (a 70" HD set) and looked so spooked that I thought she would go into a cardiac arrest.
As if that were not enough for one day, she had a habit of opening the cabinet doors under the kitchen counter. She knows what she wants, and would pull on a can of her favorite cat food until it would fall and roll out of the cabinet. She then sends out her I wanna eat meow, and we would find her with her two front paws resting on top of the cat food, just waiting for us to open it up.
She did this on a regular basis, and this one time, we had a large grocery order of canned goods to stock up. The cans were all nicely stacked three or four high. I know her habits, and when she was hungry, she would give me the signal, and if I didn't jump when she did so, she would then parade out to the kitchen to help herself. Knowing the cabinet was full, I wasn't sure if I wanted her to mess with what was in there, but I was too late.
Sure enough she had opened the door, and when she tried to pull out the cat food, all the cans avalanched onto the floor scaring the poor little girl whereas she leaped so high, she landed on top of the microwave. She looked franticly back and forth as though she knew something wasn't right. She then looks down from the microwave as though she is supervising my putting things back in order. Next thing I knew her paw snagged in my hair as she reached down from the counter, and held on as I started to get up.
She slid off the counter, grabbed onto my head, and held on for dear life. She just wasn't sure what was happening, and the look in her face told it all. Among other instances, she loved flushing the toilet, turn on the faucet in the kitchen, go through all the cabinets that she could reach.
The funniest one was where we found her in the refrigerator. Yes, that is right, she would put her paws under the door, and with all her strength, she would tug on the door until it would open. When we realized she wasn't around, we started to call for her and look around. It wasn't a long time, but she is always around, and when she is not, we figure she is up to something. We could not find her anywhere, and it wasn't until I was making myself some coffee and needed cream that I found her laying on her side calmly looking at me as if she were thinking "where the heck you been" its cold in here.
There are so many funny times she has provided us with, but it take a short novel to cover them all, but to be sure, I've never had so many laughs as a result of this little girls curiosity. Just loved her so much, but as it happened, she had a heart problem and passed away at the tender age of three.
We will never get over her passing, and we feel we could never replace her, but we miss what she gave us, and we will always have those memories of her funniest experiences.
