"Revive the Fallen" is a black sorcery spell printed as an uncommon for the Magic the Gathering expansion set known as "Morningtide." This is one of the types of cards in which have this ability called Clash. Clash happens to be an interesting mechanic introduced in Morningtide. In respects to Revive the Fallen, it seems to be a good card for a black control deck or a possible reanimation deck.
The converted mana cost for Revive the Fallen is two. You will need one black mana and one colorless mana to play Revive the Fallen. For what Revive the Fallen can do, the converted mana cost is very well worth it. Keep in mind that this is a sorcery spell. You can only play this spell only during your turn. Also, make sure you have a bunch of reasonable mana cost cards in your deck to take advantage of the Clash ability of the card.
What does Revive the Fallen do in the first place?
When you cast Revive the Fallen, you get to return a target creature card in a graveyard to its owner's hand. You can return any target creature card to an owner's hand. In this respect, you can use this to bring back some helpful creatures from the graveyard to your hand. If you have opponents with creatures with abilities that activated while in the graveyard, you can cast Revive the Fallen and send them back to their owners' hands. This works against cards such as "Genesis." For those that have come up against cards like Genesis, one can say that it is quite the annoying card for the most part.
Revive the Fallen has somewhat of a "pseudo-Buyback" ability. This is what Clash means. You and the chosen opponent "clash" by revealing the top card of your library. The cards get put at the bottom. The card with the higher converted mana cost wins. If you win the Clash, you get to put Revive the Fallen back in your hand. You have a fifty-fifty chance of being able to bring Revive the Fallen back to your hand. It is good because you can use the spell over and over again.
In this respect, think of Revive the Fallen as one of the cards that ensures you can bring a creature back.
Overall, this is a great card to have if you are playing a black deck that brings back your creatures. If you have a powerful creature on the battlefield, think of this as a means to bring it back.
