What or who is the best teacher?

We all have our favorite teachers. It might be the eighth grade social studies teacher that helped us not to hate history. Or it could be the stupendous Shapers scholar who recognized our talent. But everyone knows that no human compares to the education of experience. The more we do, the more we learn.

When we were babies, we would have never learned that the stove was hot and that it was not good for us to touch unless we EXPERIENCED the heat. As we advanced a bit into our adolescent years, most of us experienced the dangers that came from boys and girls interacting under the wrong circumstances. And as we forged head-on into adulthood, we had to gracefully accept that the only things that we could count on in a lot of cases was our accumulated wisdom and our willingness to learn by trial and error.

This was most likely not the most comforting realization for most of us, yet it surely proved correct. For it is by experience that we examine situations differently and encourage the greatest change in our approach to future situations.
