The Lord is YET good!
We are being taught about spiritual warfare in Bible study. It's funny, as soon as you hear the word, read the word, and actively start to walk in the word, the devil is right there; right there to combat you. It can be the littlest thing, but he doesn't care, as long as he can get you to waiver, to move off of the path that God is leading you on, he will try to sway you.
Last night, my first lady spoke on spiritual warfare, and how it starts in the mind. The part of our body that we hold most dear. I say this because without our mind, we cannot do anything. Our mind is our control center, the "true" heart/core of a person, without it, you can do nothing. Of course, that is where the devil attacks. He attacks the core, because if he can attack your mind, he knows that you will dwell on whatever situation, problem, temptation, seed, etc that he has planted. But, what he forgets - BUT, GOD...
I realize that the devil IS cunning, if I could control my mind - I wouldn't analyze, ponder, wonder, rearrange the things that I hear, see or think. I mean, once I look at a situation (good, or bad) my mind starts working. Satan knows this, which is why he attacks your mind, trying to distract you from the path that God has you on. Though I cannot stop my mind from analyzing, pondering, wondering or trying to rearrange things that occur, I can stop my reaction to anything that might come my way.
I have been dealing with some stuff, and after absorbing the teachings that I heard last night and deciding to act on the word...the devil throws a curve ball at me, and my mind starts working, and not in a good way. However, I have decided that the devil will not win! He will not defeat me! And I will not lose this battle, or any other! The scripture clearly states (2 Corin 10:3-5) For for though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
This means that the battle is not in the flesh, but in the spirit. The devil is going to attack the mind, but if we cast down the thoughts/imaginations that he plants, we will be overcomers, as long as we are obedient to God's word. And I have decided to be obedient.
I am waking up each morning, and going to bed each night, knowing that I am dressed
