Humanity have long thought of God as the only true ruler of our world but religions have tainted everything God was and is so many have turned to another form of God... and that is the God within. Years upon years of teaching say that God is a father who cares for his children, though when something befalls their loved ones many cry in anguish and ask where God, their father, is now. Where is God when thousands die everyday all over the world and where is God when we have lost our way?

Religious teaching has finally come under scrutiny for the lies that have been hidden for so long. "You can't handle the truth' is a line from a movie most of us will be familiar with but when you try to understand how immense God is, it is impossible for the human mind to comprehend the awesome power and so we break God down to an understanding. When you do this you are better able to feel God as a part of you; as you are a part of Gods incredible energy. Quotes from the scriptures will never compare to living and breathing God in your everyday life. God, the universe, higher being or the light, is neither male nor female. God just is. And God is just a name we use as part of our understanding. Much like you and your name. Can you imagine not being you? The beauty in just being you is amazing. In fact just being is fantastic.

The notion that God is a man, or a higher being, or anything other than just absolute energy automatically creates a vision in our mind causing us to identify with that vision and naming it. The problem with this in some ways is that we will all conjure up something unique to the way we, as individuals, think. Our thoughts of God may be similar but they will have differences. When you listen to and place absolute faith in another person's vision or idea of God then you take on their story and lose the idea of who you really are in the process, giving them more power to convert others and so on. It is through blind faith that we lose the reality of who God really is.

God is old that much we can feel just through investigation of our wonderful planet however the notion of the God-story is outdated because humanity want more, indeed, humanity need more to improve their story of God. No longer can we rely on the translations of men who thousands of years ago told their story of God. Even their views changed through the years from the old testament to the new testament. It was the established church leaders who chose certain parts of the Bible to quote in order to hold the power. And sadly it continues today.

There is a positive side to the church however. It is that individuals have a sense of belonging and community. Most church groups work together for the benefit of society and I have much praise for them. But I challenge these people to just step outside of their comfort zone and think for themselves and if they discover that is who they are and they find happiness still within their group then I admire their conviction. I myself firmly believe that it is an individual inner feeling to know God and the richness of life.

My notion of God is old... but my feelings are renewed every day I behold the wonder of God!
