There are many references in the bible to where the poor will become rich in heaven, where the rich will become poor in heaven. The people who laugh shall cry, and the people who cry shall laugh. One thing comes to mind with this, Communism.
Communism is all about distributing the wealth and power to the poor. Its about equality and everything being equal to one another. Where the poor will rise up and there will be no separation in classes. There will be no Upper, Middle or Lower class, there will just be one class, the equal class. This all sounds like the teaching of Jesus Christ.
Jesus wanted the rich to give money to the poor, he wanted the rich to share the wealth. He wanted everyone to be equal on Gods green earth. But he also warned about a terrible afterlife for those who did not follow his teachings. Like those who laugh now, will cry after death. Jesus used threats of a horrible rest of eternity to persuade the rich to give to the poor. Then he also said those who cry shall laugh in heaven. Those who had it bad, do not be poor spirited because you will be happy in the afterlife.
In communism there is no threats, there's just equality. Jesus strived to reach the same equality that communism has. He strived for everyone to be equal and for everyone to be no different from anyone else. Yet, he did not have the numbers to convince everyone.
I believe that if Jesus Christ was able to stay alive and get many followers, that we would be in a state of communism. There would be no rich, there would be no poor, everyone would be equal working hard, doing their own share and striving to become one with God. This sounds all good right? Nobody more happy than everyone else. Tell that to Russia.
Russia tried communism. It didn't work out, with everyone equal, with the brain surgeons making as much as the bus drivers, there was no strive to be a brain surgeon. Why do more work if you don't make more money? No matter what you did you still got the same amount. With the competitive drive gone, there was no reason for anyone to work hard. Russia fell behind economically, because there people didn't have a care in the world.
The world being ruled exactly as Jesus would have wanted, would not work, we would not be able to co-exist peacefully with science, as no science would get done. We would still think the sun orbited the earth. Their would be no economy.
Christianity has to much in common with Communism, for me to live by the Bible, and only the Bible.
