Our military works to keep our country the way we want it every day of the year. This means that, ideally, we should thank and honor them every day of the year for their service. Although some people or families with friends and family in the military may take time every day to acknowledge everything that they do and hope for their safety, most people without loved ones in the armed forces may forget everything that these heroes do for us and our country each and every day. We need to prevent this from happening too often and need to remind other people of the amazing things they do for us.

As it has been established, we need to remind people to acknowledge and celebrate the importance of all of the armed forces in everyone of our lives all the time. How might we do this? We could have a day, week, or even month celebrating their importance. That should get a person's thinking to involve the service people fighting for us and to treasure their bravery and integrity. That would help us honor more and better than we do now.

We already have many national holidays or weeks honoring our great troops, but some are far too specific, and we also simply don't have enough of these holidays that people remember in the first place! There is our Memorial Day, but this only applies to the people we have lost in the Armed Forces from wars.

We have Armed Forces Day, but it is unfortunately almost completely uncelebrated on a national level, and far too close to Memorial Day. There should be a day established that will honor our military in the time that they are most in danger and suffer for us most. This time is during the Winter.

Having a day to celebrate the greatness of our armed forces during the wintertime would be great because it would allow us to appreciate the suffering in the winter, of not only the cold, but of missing family and friends during the holiday season and not being able to be home. This is worth acknowledging.

To sum these ideas, the best time to honor our military is all of the time. We must however, be reminded to honor them all the time with certain holidays to help us appreciate their sacrifice. Honoring these military heroes is great, and we should all realize it!
